DESCRIPTION:Be part of a\npivotal\nmoment in the next chapter of mountain biking in Victoria!\nJoin organisers PLA (VicTas)\, Outdoors Victoria\, and Blue Sky Trails for the second Victorian Sustainable Mountain Bike Trails Summit. Supported by AusCycling and Box Hill Institute. \nCheck back soon for updates on speakers\, program announcements\, and event details. \nBuilding on the momentum and conversations from last year’s inaugural Summit\, this event will once again bring together land managers\, trail advocates\, industry leaders\, clubs\, government agencies\, and community representatives to explore the future of Victoria’s mountain bike trail network. \nMountain biking continues to play a vital role in Victoria’s outdoor culture. From local volunteer-built trail networks to destination trail experiences\, these places support recreation\, health and wellbeing\, community connection\, tourism\, and regional economies. \nAs demand continues to grow\, so too does the need for collaborative\, sustainable approaches to planning\, management\, and investment. \nWhy This Summit Matters\nThe conversations started at last year’s Summit highlighted both the opportunities and challenges facing Victoria’s trail sector. Increasing trail use\, changing environmental conditions\, evolving governance requirements\, and growing expectations on clubs and land managers all reinforce the need for a coordinated approach. \nThis Summit will continue the conversation\, bringing together key stakeholders to: \n\nshare knowledge\nidentify priorities\nexplore practical solutions that support the long-term sustainability of mountain bike trails across Victoria.\n\nWhether you’re a land manager\, council officer\, trail builder\, club committee member\, volunteer\, consultant\, industry representative\, or policy maker\, this Summit is an opportunity to contribute to shaping the future of the sector. \nPlanning is Underway\nThe Victorian Sustainable Mountain Bike Trails Summit Advisory Council and Planning Committee are currently meeting to develop this year’s program. \nWe’re working closely with stakeholders from across the sector to ensure the Summit addresses the most important issues facing mountain biking in Victoria today. The agenda\, speakers\, and workshop sessions will be announced in the coming months. \nWe want this Summit to reflect the priorities\, challenges\, and opportunities that matter most to the Victorian mountain biking community. \nHave your say by completing our short survey and letting us know what topics\, speakers\, case studies\, and discussions you would like to see included in this year’s program. \nClick here to complete the survey!
