SUMMARY:SA/NT Pioneer Women's Trail: Guided Walk and Talk
DESCRIPTION:Explore the Pioneer Women’s Trail: Heritage\, Conservation and Community				\n				\n				\n				\n									The Pioneer Women’s Trail is a historic walking route through the Adelaide Hills\, commemorating the women of Hahndorf who walked long distances to Adelaide from the 1830s\, carrying produce to market and returning with essential goods for their communities. This guided walk and talk offers the opportunity to experience part of this significant trail while hearing from those involved in protecting its heritage\, landscape and biodiversity values. Annette Humphries\, Chairperson of the Hahndorf National Trust will open the session at Mount Osmond Golf Club. She will share the history and significance of the Pioneer Women’s Trail and the women whose journeys shaped its story. Whilst we won’t be completing the whole trail\, you will walk a section of the historic route along the Old Bullock Track\, hearing from the City of Burnside about conservation programs across the council area\, including work to protect the critically endangered Cryptic Sun Moth and broader initiatives supporting local biodiversity and habitat. The session will conclude with refreshments and networking – thanks to the generous support of ARO College.  Please note: This is a gentle 35-45minute stroll each way. There are plenty of opportunities to stop as there are talks along the way.
