SUMMARY:SA/NT Technical Tour and Talk - Casuarina Aquatic Centre\, Darwin
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we take a deep dive technical tour of City of Darwin’s Casuarina Aquatics and Leisure Centre on Thursday 30 July 2.30pm – 5.00pm. This session is designed to support ongoing industry learning and professional development for recreation and community infrastructure professionals. This $26.8million project\, completed in July 2024\, transformed the facility in Darwin’s northern suburbs from a traditional 1970s style outdoor pool with limited accessibility\, functionality and sustainability\, into a modern\, inclusive\, family-friendly community hub\, unique within the NT.  Hear from the City of Darwin\, AILA\, Myrtha Pools – all involved in the project – to understand the challenges\, wins\, and lessons learnt during the journey\, and meet the facility operators to discuss how the site functions day-to-day. With the generous sponsorship of Urban Play\, we are excited to announce networking drinks and nibbles at Mindil Markets from 5.30pm. As we continue strengthening our presence across the NT\, events like this play an important role in building industry connections\, sharing knowledge and learning from the organisations shaping recreation in Darwin and across the region.
