Sports Turf Manager

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for sports turf management and community service? Sutherland Shire Council is seeking an experienced Sports Turf Manager to lead a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team responsible for delivering exceptional sports turf programs and services across our valued and sustainable sport precinct portfolio.

About the Role

In this pivotal leadership position, you will oversee the management and delivery of sports turf programs across multiple sites. You will lead internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure operations align with best practice, safety standards and Council values.

You will be accountable for strategic planning, budget oversight, performance management and fostering a positive team culture focused on delivering outstanding outcomes for Council and the community.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in sports turf management or a related field, with current Certified Sports Turf Manager (CSTM) accreditation. A valid NSW White Card, driver’s licence and Working with Children Check are required.

You will bring strong leadership experience with teams and contractors, alongside skills in budgeting, safety and service management. Hands-on experience in asset and project management, combined with the ability to work effectively with diverse community groups and sporting clubs, will be essential. Your strong strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills will enable you to confidently handle legislation, contracts and reporting.
