About the position

We are seeking two Community Facilities Planning Officers to join our Community Facilities team. These roles are integral to the strategic planning and development of the City’s existing and future community infrastructure, to ensure the delivery of projects meet the community’s needs and benefit the City.

Key deliverables include the development of needs assessments, feasibility studies, strategies, project management documentation, stakeholder engagement and funding submissions.

The City of Wanneroo is a large and developing local government with a wide range of community facility planning projects that the successful candidates will be involved in, including:

Planning for a range of community facilities as outlined within the City’s Northern Coastal Growth Corridor Community Facilities Plan and East Wanneroo Community Infrastructure Plan;Planning for future regional and district sporting precincts in Alkimos, Yanchep and East Wanneroo; andRevitalising and upgrading existing facilities within the City’s southern suburbs.

About you

You will have experience in the preparation of high-level documentation such as needs assessments and feasibility studies and a thorough understanding of relevant industry trends. You will hold excellent customer service skills ideally have considerable experience in sport, recreation, community infrastructure and public open space planning.

The successful candidate will thrive in a team-based environment, collaborating with the service unit and the other service units to achieve the best outcomes for the community.

Skills and Experience:

Qualification in relevant discipline such as sport, recreation, leisure or urban planning or equivalent experience;Relevant experience in a similar role, including stakeholder engagement;Previous experience writing council reports and other relevant documentation;C class Drivers Licence;Intermediate computing, numeracy and literacy skills;Intermediate organisational and time management skills;Intermediate communication and problem-solving skills;Intermediate research and analysis skills; andIntermediate negotiation and influencing skills.
