About the role

The Open Space and Recreation Planner’s primary purpose is to develop policies, strategies and management plans through a place-based approach which promotes community connection, resilience, health and wellbeing. You will lead community engagement initiatives in the development and maintenance of open spaces, parks and recreational facilities and collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance the quality of life for Willoughby City Council residents and promote sustainable recreation opportunities.

 

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in public open space management or other related discipline or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in open space planning, including developing and implementing strategies, policies and plans.
  • Demonstrated experience in effective community consultation and customer experience.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Highly developed research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong writing skills, including the ability to write reports, policy documents and presentations.
