This is a full time, fixed term contract for 3 years at the City of Bayswater in Perth, WA.

About the Position:

The Manager of Parks and Gardens holds an integral position at the City of Bayswater. This position will develop, maintain and improve the City's parks, reserves and streetscapes providing high quality green spaces to our community with a big focus on tree canopy. This role has the responsibility of leading a large operational team as well as appropriate management of the City's contractors.  The Manager of Parks and Gardens manages the budget, procurement, monitoring and reporting responsibilities as well as ensuring a safe work environment.  This position also has the opportunity to contribute to and lead the development of strategy and policy to improve parks and gardens outcomes.

 

About the Person: 

The successful person will have relevant operational experience at a management level, which include strong leadership and people management skills and the ability to motivate a large multi-disciplinary team.  A good understanding of asset management and service levels is required for this role as well as strong understanding of organisations.  It is imperative that you have excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to write reports and build constructive working relationships. A Diploma in Horticulture or other relevant qualifications are required for this role or considerable relevant industry experience at an equivalent level.

 

The salary for this position will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
