Green Flag Award Nominations Open in August


We are delighted to announce that recently more than 30 Australian parks and recreation professionals successfully completed the internationally recognised Green Flag Award accreditation. The Award is the international mark of a quality park or green space, judged by green space-experts.

Mark Band, CEO Parks & Leisure Australia said; 'It's fantastic to see we've had more than 30 new Green Flag judges coming from all over Australia. It's now more important than ever that people have access to quality parks and green spaces to ensure we can all lead healthy lives. We are excited to be now calling for nominations for the International Green Flag Award'.

The scheme was launched in 1996 and is managed in England by Keep Britain Tidy, now flags fly over 1,700 sites across the UK, Republic of Ireland,Germany, the Netherlands, Finland and the United Arab Emirates, as well as Australia and New Zealand.
