Thanks to all who joined us as we toured Port Adelaide Football Club’s new world-class High Performance Centre and community precinct. We were thrilled to hear how the project came to life from Port Adelaide Football Club CEO, Matthew Richardson, and the team at Sarah Constructions.
We were also joined by SANFL and the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing who updated us on all the funding currently available for future projects. A fantastic day of networking and exploring this outstanding high-class facility. A big thank you goes out to all our presenters – Matthew Richardson (PAFC), Robert Maiolo (Sarah Constructions), Martin Govett (ORSR) and Rebecca Tappert (SANFL) – for their time and expertise. You can explore the photo gallery from the day below.
About the PAFC High Performance Centre
The $25 million project has transformed Alberton Oval, the home of the Port Adelaide Football Club since 1880, into an elite high-performance sport precinct for the club’s AFL and AFLW teams, whilst also providing access to facilities for local junior sport, and significantly improved greenspaces for community use.
The new High Performance Centre includes an indoor training field, two international standard basketball courts, a soccer pitch, gymnasium, wet recovery areas, locker room, lecture theatre, medical amenities, commercial standard kitchen, player wellness space, and media studio.
The project was supported by a $15 million investment from the Australian Government, $3 million investment from the South Australian Government, and additional funding from the AFL, City of Port Adelaide Enfield and club co-major partners, MG and GFG.
