Who should attend:
Over recent years there have been countless examples of crises, emergencies and incidents which have been met with either effective or ineffective risk management. Amongst others, these have included terrorism-related challenges, assaults and drug-related deaths at music festivals and fatalities associated with amusement rides.
At some point every organisation and LGA will face an event-related crisis, emergency or incident and being prepared through scenario planning is a key part of the expected risk management and mitigation. Such scenarios might include:
• An accident or fatality
• A security or terrorism-related incident
• Legal or compliance issues relating to operational staff
• Fraud, misconduct or breaches of confidentiality
• Complaints or criticism from an unhappy member, patron or guest going viral on social media.
In this workshop participants will work together through hypothetical challenges to event planning and delivery to gain greater confidence, assurance and transferable skills around the application of better practice event risk management.
Mark Humphreys has over 20 years of experience encompassing logic mapping, strategic, operational and project risk, liability and insurable risk with blue chip companies in the UK and across the Australian private and public sectors. He holds two 'Master of Science' degrees; one in 'Insurance & Risk Management' and one in 'Civil Emergency Management', majoring in risk and business continuity management.
