Whats In a View?

This paper reports on a study established to identify the most scenic areas in SEQ, based on public opinion. The report uses quantitative data from the 2004 Public Preference Survey. It found that “People in SEQ have a consistently high preference for particularly “natural” appearing views of the ocean, rivers or creeks surrounded by natural vegetation where no built development is evident. Of highest preference our views of the ocean and coastal rocks or headlands from elevated locations. Some views of steep mountain ranges from elevated locations are also highly preferred”.
