We are excited to support this research project and encourage anyone working in park planning and policy to contribute:
Assessing the feasibility and acceptability of a novel AI-Park Design methodology for designing, prototyping, and testing park planning for adolescents.
Dr Elise Rivera from Central Queensland University and her team are conducting a research study to explore a new approach for designing, prototyping, and testing park designs with adolescents and young people (16-21 years) using design thinking and artificial intelligence. They want to hear from you about the feasibility and acceptability of this approach in your park planning work.
The research will explore:
• Adolescents’ perceptions and experiences of using AI-driven tools to design and prototype parks
• How this methodology supports more effective, user-centred park planning
• The feasibility and acceptability of implementing this approach in real-world contexts
Ultimately, this project aims to bridge the gap between emerging technologies and participatory design, shaping the next generation of parks through collaboration, innovation, and evidence-based practice.
