In 1987/88 a grant of $600 was made from the Trust Fund to the University of New England to cover part of the costs of doctoral research by Institute member Mrs Elizabeth Beckmann relating to environmental interpretation in Australian national parks and reserves. The doctorate was completed and the dissertation is in the library. At the date of writing (4 January 2022), the dissertation is not available online, but the University has a policy of digitising selected documents.
