PLA NSW/ACT would like to thank Lark Industries and Fairfield City Council for taking us through the recently opened Bareena and Fairfield Heights Parks. It was great day, with many getting a chance to get a behind the scenes look at the processes, the ways in which the history of each site was included in the new areas, how the community was taken into consideration, and a chance to delve into design choices of each of the stunning features of the playgrounds.
Sussan on behalf of Fairfield City Council was able to give attendees a run through of the way the needs and considerations of the community were involved in the brief for each site. Jana from Umbaco Landscape Architects explained how the flow and needs of the community were taken into account when planning the Fairfield City Council playground. Michelle from Lark Industries gave attendees insight into how they were able to incorporate the design elements into feature pieces in the playground, and why certain materials were used. Anthony from Coordinated Landscapes brought it all together with the clarification of the construction and installation at each site.
A highlight certainly was when all were able to spend time at each playground, and having questions answered. We thank all who were able to attend, Lark Industries, and our speakers!
Brought to you in partnership with Lark Industries.
