Today, the State Government released the Urban Greening Strategy for Whadjuk / Perth and Bindjareb / Peel.
The Strategy marks the start of Let’s Grow, an urban greening program to encourage leafier, more liveable urban communities. The program will add to and bring together the work already underway across State and local government and the community.
Applications for the $10 million Let’s Grow Grants program will open soon, supporting projects that directly boost tree canopy.
The program was informed by 3,733 public survey responses, with 88 per cent of people rating their level of support for more urban greening at 10 out of 10. A summary of the consultation results is available in Appendix 4 of the Strategy.
Thanks once again to everyone who contributed their time, ideas and expertise.
