Have Your Say
In 2024, a new draft Constitution was presented to members with a short consultation period. The draft was developed with input from all PLA regions and the assistance of Moores Australia, addressing a range of contemporary governance requirements.
While the proposed Constitution received valuable feedback, the 48-hour consultation period was too short for members to engage in depth. Members made it clear that more time and broader engagement were needed, and we agree!
What's Happening in 2025?
We are now delivering an extended consultation process to ensure transparency, trust, and create a Constitution that truly reflects the needs of our members. The Final Draft Constitution will be voted on by members at the Annual General Meeting at the Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart on 11th November at 2:35pm. At the Annual General Meeting, members will be asked to vote on a special resolution to adopt a new Constitution for PLA that has been prepared and endorsed by the Board (the AGM Constitution).
The 2025 consultation period is open now and will close on 26 September 2025. There are a number of resources available to members:
- The draft Constitution
- Frequently Asked Questions
- Supporting letters XY & Z
- Proxy Form
- FAQ for PLA members
- Message from PLA Advisory
- Message from Frank Stewart Alumni
