Come along and learn how we can all work together to make a safer communitty.
Parks Planning have teamed up the Cardinia Shire Safer Communities Partnership Committee to bring this Coffee with Community event to Cockatoo.
Community can chat with police officers, SES, CFA, Council members, Ausnet and other safety partners to discuss community concerns and build connections.
Cricket Victoria will bring the Melbourne Stars truck with their bowling inflatable for the kids and giveaways along with Aligned Leisure's Street Team Jeep filled with sporting equipment.

The Spectacle Garden in Colin Campbell Place is the horticultural heart of Roma Street Parkland.
Join one of our experienced and knowledgeable volunteer guides on this free guided walk through the Spectacle Garden.
Discover the treasures of the subtropical botanic and horticultural world including some of the world’s most colourful and unique subtropical foliage and flowering plants. You might even be greeted by one of our resident Eastern Water Dragons.

Join us for an exciting afternoon of fun and relaxation!
Kick off your experience with a lively Zumba class from 12:15pm to 1:00pm, located near the exercise equipment.
Enjoy a delightful lunch by the lake—bring your own picnic or visit our food vendors for a variety of delicious options, as well as coffee from Barista On The Move or a sausage from the barbie hosted by Cockatoo Scouts.
Get creative at our flower crown-making stall and immerse yourself in the soothing sounds of local acoustic singer Lily Georgia, performing from 12.30pm to 3:30pm.
Aligned Leisure will be hosting a closing season Pool Party at the Emerald Wading Pool, along with their Street Team Jeep packed with sporting equipment.
Enjoy some time with family friends in the picturesque Emerald Lake Park.

Doggy Family Portraits; a professional photographer will capture photos of your family with your dog. You will receive one free digital image after editing.
RSPCA dog behaviourists will be onsite to discuss dog behaviour issues. Beyond Obedience Dog Training will also demonstrate how to use the park's dog agility equipment.
Compliance Officers will be available to answer questions residents have regarding pet ownership, pet registration and animal behaviour.
Half-price dog registration will also be offered to dog owners registering their pet for the first time.
Please note:
This offer is only for new registrations of desexed dogs that attend the Park's Week Officer District Park Doggy Afternoon event.
The dog must not have been registered with Cardinia Shire Council before.
This offer is available to pensioners and concession card holders.
Payments via EFT on the day only.

Come and join our Community Planting Day at Castle Cove Park during Parks Week 2025!
The community planting day is an all-ages event on Saturday 8 March from 9 to 11 am at Castle Cove Park where families, friends, and neighbours alike have a chance to leave a green impact on their local park.
Each community member will plant alongside the park's green spaces team, learning basic gardening techniques, and take home a small item for your own garden space.
Just passing through? No problem! Make sure to stop by and have any gardening questions answered by Willoughby's green spaces team or for more information about our parks.
ACT Parks Week Walk - National Arboretum

Celebrate this Parks Week by joining this free, guided walk around the National Arboretum. The 60 minute walk will start at the Village Centre, and finish with an opportunity to purchase a coffee at the end. Toilets available inside the Village Centre.
While this event is free, registrations through Eventbrite are essential.

Parks Week- Nature in the City Open day

Hillcrest Stadium - Transformation From Roots Up - Weekly Wednesday Restoration Group

Transformation From Roots Up meets on a regular basis to undertake various environmental conservation activities within the park at Hillcrest Stadium to recreate a 'Kahikatea forest'. This includes planting native plants, 'releasing' planted plants, mulching.
The group works with the local community including Kirikiriroa Marae, Knighton Normal School, and other volunteers to plant and establish a mixed podocarp forest/ngahere (kahikatea, matai, rimu, totara etc) as part of the ‘bush corridor’ linking the city to the river. There is also an establishing grove of harakeke/flax from the ‘Rene Orchiston’ collection available for those teaching Maori traditional harakeke weaving.
Head along to help with this project and have a sense of contributing positively to the urban restoration within Hamilton. The group meets most Wednesdays at 10am at the Deer Stalkers Hall Carpark (969 Wairere Drive).
Nature in the City Volunteering Opportunity - Mangaonua - Weekly Thursday Restoration Group

Come and help with the removal of pest plants and invasive weeds from one of the most important remnant bush area in Hamilton City. This mixed podocarp forest of 5 hectares recently had tradescantia (Wandering Willie) weed covering the forest floor reducing natural bush regeneration.
The group have targeted the removal of this weed and are down to the last remaining scatterings. Come along and help with this project and have a sense of contributing positively to the urban restoration of Hamilton City.
For this project you will need to have:

Step out in green spaces, discover new places. Every year the Heart Foundation Walking program celebrates Parks Week (3-10 March 2025), encouraging participants and communities to get out for a walk in local parks and green spaces.
This year Heart Foundation Walking NT is hosting a Parks Week Walk, Picnic & Gentle Yoga in The Park at the Casuarina Coastal Reserve followed by a picnic and yoga.
Join us for a Parks Week Walk on Friday 7 March, meeting at the Dripstone Park Picnic Area.
