About this position

The City is dedicated to providing vibrant, safe and well maintained parks, public places and natural areas that support both passive and active recreation, all while preserving and protecting the natural environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and skilled leader to step forward and shape the future of the City’s parks assets. Reporting to the Coordinator Assets and Contracts, the role involves overseeing maintenance programs, managing capital renewal projects, coordinating budgets and ensuring contractor compliance – delivering exceptional outcomes that enhance the City’s parks and the community.

 

What we are looking for

To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate:

  •  Substantial experience in landscape construction and/or asset maintenance relevant to the position
  •  Proven project management skills, with a track record of delivering within budget and timeframes
  •  Strong financial management expertise
  •  Extensive leadership experience, including the ability to motivate and develop staff

 

Essential requirements

  • Current driver’s licence.
  • Certificate IV or higher qualification in Horticulture, Landscape Construction, Asset Management or similar
  • White Card
  • National Police Clearance (no more than three months old). Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.

 

Desirable requirements

  • Certificate IV in Frontline Management
