WEBINAR RECAP – Industry Talk: Guide Park Regional Playspace

  • October 17, 2023

In our latest Industry Talk webinar we were joined by Ella Angarane OAM, Recreation and Open Space Planner at Bass Coast Shire Council, to explore the Guide Park Regional Playspace and discuss how the project was brought to life. Winner of the Parks and Leisure Australia (Vic/Tas) Playspace Award (>$0.5M) for 2023, the space draws upon extensive community consultation with elements reflecting the Shire’s coal mining history and amazing natural environment.

Thanks to all who attended and took part in the discussion, and of course a big thank you to Ella for her time and expertise. You can find the full webinar recording and further resources at the links below.

About Guide Park Playspace

Guide Park is a nature based intergenerational playspace like no other. A homage to the Bass Coast landscape this intricate design sits underneath an avenue of shade trees. With a range of unique, off-the-shelf and nature based elements it provides an open ended environment for people of all aged and abilities to access, socialise and most importantly have fun in.

The project includes a mine themed slide tower, flying foxes, a trampoline, carousel, gentle exercise area and nature based play. Supporting infrastructure also includes a drinking fountain, bike racks, pathways, fencing and an accessible BBQ.

Thanks to our speaker
