Ecosystem reconstruction at Millbrook Reservoir SA. SA Water reconstructed a threatened grassy open woodland in the Mount Lofty Ranges. At a clear-felled pine plantation, the project saw the novel and innovative blend of top-down and bottom-up habitat reconstruction methods to recreate a functional and sustainable ecosystem. This successful reconstruction of grassy woodlands has seen the re-emergence of a range of functionally important woodland bird species such as raptors, honey-eaters, and insectivores, including the declining dusky wood-swallow.
