Join us as we celebrate Parks Week with a forum exploring the “Design and Development of La Trobe Sports Park” and a facilitated discussion on ‘Parks and Open Space Maintenance’. 

You will hear from:

  • Nick Lambert, Senior Manager – Sport Infrastructure and Operations at La Trobe Sport, who will take us on the La Trobe Sports Park journey from idea to reality 
  • Lucas Skelton – Field of Play Team Leader at SPORTENG, a PLA Vic/Tas region partner who were deeply involved in the design and development of La Trobe Sports Park.

  • Dean Jamieson – General Manager Operations (Victoria) from Green by Nature, another PLA Vic/Tas region partner who are the contracted open space maintenance provider at La Trobe Sports Park
  • Representatives from Banyule City Council who will talk to the broader community outcomes achieved at La Trobe Sports Park and rising expectations of open space management

    Facilitated discussion: changing demands, issues and opportunities in the current market, and how the sector can work together for the best possible outcomes

Finish the morning with a light lunch and opportunity to network with colleagues. 

Site Tour

The La Trobe Sport team, along with our partners SPORTENG and Green by Nature, will treat us to a behind the scenes site tour.

La Trobe Sports Park is home to: 

  • Synthetic football (soccer) pitch 
  • AFL Oval 
  • Pavilion with club rooms, change rooms and a multi-purpose function room 
  • Lower playing fields (four football pitches / two cricket ovals) 
  • 6 court indoor stadium 
  • Teaching and research building 
  • State Centres for Football Victoria and Rugby Victoria
  • Home of the Matildas
