In 1991, Pavements and Assets Strategy Branch was approached by the Fraser implementation Team to conduct a series of pavement trials to enable an alternative to wood chip and gravel to be developed for 4WD sand trucks on Fraser Island.
In response to this request, a visit to Fraser Island was conducted by Branch staff. The initial report proposed a number of alternative treatments for trial. Since then, product research and testing have been conducted to select a shortlist of treatments for trial. This report details the treatments proposed for trial and summarises their selection.
