From a 2021 retrospective, these course notes, written in 1987-1989 by an Australian with only a couple of years’ experience in Papua New Guinea, appear rather quaint. However, a supervisor of grass roots outdoor staff in a developing country may find them a useful starting point for their own comparable project.
