Recreational Open Space Strategy

This Recreational Open Space Strategy has general application to the whole of the Shire of Cardinia, with particular emphasis given to meeting the recreational open space needs of existing and anticipated urban populations. Recreational Open Space can be interpreted in a variety of different ways. In this Strategy document, recreational open space is considered as local, neighborhood and district parks, sporting and non – sporting, as well as linear linkages. The Strategy is designed to: provide a clear vision and direction regarding the purpose, provision, development priorities, management and use of all recreational open space areas; and provide direction regarding priority actions necessary to achieve the vision over the next 5-10 years. The Recreational Open Space Strategy relates directly to this vision and has been formulated within the context of Council’s overall strategic planning framework.
