The National Parks Service, with the co-operation of the School of Botany, University of Melbourne, held a seminar on the subject of the fungus disease, Phytophthora cinnamomi. The decision to convene this seminar was made following the discovery of the disease in Wilson’s Promontory National Park. This booklet was prepared to provide a record of its proceedings. It gives a general account of the present state of knowledge about the characteristics and distribution of the fungus, and its potential to devastate home gardens, orchards and vast tracts of natural bushland.
