Draft Perth Coastal Planning Strategy: summary

The purpose of the Perth Coastal Planning Strategy is to guide future sustainable planning for conservation, recreation, infrastructure and development of our highly valued and sought-after metropolitan coast. The strategy builds on Network City (the State Government’s framework for regional planning for Perth and Peel) at a sub-regional level for the coast; it provides a strategic regional framework for the implementation of State Government coastal policy (State Planning Policy 2.6 State Coastal Planning Policy) and promotes integrated coastal zone management. The purpose of releasing the draft is to seek public comment on its content and recommendations prior to the finalisation of the strategy.
